Kim Conder, Pawleys Island, SC
Artist and jewelry designer Kim Conder is inspired by the nature of her beloved Pawleys Island. As a child, every summer was spent with her grandparents in their north end creek house among the marshes, creeks and tides. It was there that she began to learn the heart and soul of the island. Her childhood memories have a strong influence on who she is today as well as what she wishes to express in her work.
Her jewelry collection reflects and incorporates the beauty of her immediate surroundings – freshwater pearls, Gullah beads, crushed shells, sea glass, and horse brass. The uniqueness and craftsmanship of her pieces are stunning.
