Murat Kaboulov, Nashville, TN
Born and educated in Vladikavkaz, Russia, Murat Kaboulov began his lifelong passion of studying and creating art as a very young man and sold his first painting at the age of 14. This was the beginning of a career which spanned six decades. He obtained an MFA from one of the world’s leading art schools – I.E. Repin Institute of Painting, and studied in the studio of Professor Evsey Moiseyenko, one of the most famous representatives of “social realism” (Russian Impressionism).
Murat’s special subject is the many-figured composition. He was academically trained and excelled in portraits, landscapes, and still-life. He was a member of the Russian Artists Union, the Portrait Society of America, and the Tennessee Art League. His works can be found in many art museums throughout Russia as well as in private collections in the United States, France, Spain, Germany, Norway, Israel, and Japan.
Murat lived in Brentwood, Tennessee with his wife Marina and their two children until his death in 2010.
